I'm totally pumping up this season so much that I'm going a bit overboard. I sent people cards** on the first day of fall, I decorated my office bulletin board with construction paper leaves I cut out (I'm a really good multitasker), and I drove upstate away from the city to go apple picking and pretend I'm from a small town like Mystic Falls, or Forks, or some other place where magical things can happen.
I even start

And then afterwards I found the cutest bakery--seriously you have to love small towns--and I said to the waitress I wanted this Frankenstein vampire cupcake (which is it? lol):

Now that I've blabbed for a handful of paragraphs about essentially nothing and you're wondering where I'm going with this, I'm probably going to let you down when I tell you no where. I just wanted to share that I had a perfect fall Saturday, and it got even better when I came home to see an email from the lovely and funny (and fellow Buffy lover) Musing Bella that she's "tagged me." I can never say no to a game, and I'm just touched that people still think of me while I haven't been around much recently (boo long work hours).
So here goes:
1) What was your favorite subject in school, and why?
Home ec. Specifically middle school home ec, because we made actual food and sewed felt pillows and I LOVED it. High school home ec was a joke. My teacher basically turned "egg week" into "egg semester" and all we did was make eggs in a nest with frozen toast. Or improvised whatever we wanted to turn Pillsbury crescent rolls into.
2) Do you have any daily rituals, and what are they?
Makeup. No matter what happens, even if I'm sick with the flu and feel like dying, I always get ready the same way in the morning with makeup. It actually makes for a bad excuse to tell people I'm sick because I might not look it, but I'm so used to it that I would never go out without it. Like Dolly Parton. Only I actually take my makeup off at night before I sleep, and I'm going to guess my future husband will actually know what I look like without any on!
3) Do you prefer beer, wine, or hard alcohol (or none of the above)?
Coke. I'm not a big drinker, I've never drank more than a sip of beer before. I'll have an amaretto sour if I'm feeling celebratory. Wine, if I have the right food.
4) What is the very first thing you would do if you won a million dollars?
I'd buy a little seaside cottage somewhere by Monterey with a lemon tree in the backyard, and I'd treat myself to fresh flowers every week. Dream big! (Actually I don't even know if that would be covered with a million dollars these days.)
5) If you could live one fan fic story (as any character), what would it be?
I still haven't read any fan fic.
6) What is something you're looking forward to in the next six months?
My trip to Nashville!! And the holiday food ;)
7) Have you ever slapped someone for real? And if so, why?
Nope and I hope no one would ever make me so mad that I'd want to!
8) What is your favorite Halloween candy?
I'm loving the new Reese's peanut butter cups in dark chocolate. I bought a bag of minis last month because Target likes to tantalize people with their Halloween candy displays in September and I ate the entire thing. I carried the whole bag everywhere I went in my giant purse, that at one point one of my coworkers asked if I just ate candy and pretzels all day. (Yes.)
Fun! Now I'm passing it along now to these ladies, and anyone else who's up for it! Have a marvelous, autumny weekend everyone!

1. If you could live any character's life on any television show, who would you want to be? (And you can probably guess what my answer would be.)
2. If you could get a lifetime supply of any one fruit in its most perfect and ripe condition, what would it be?
3. What's one talent you wish you had in you?
4. Which celebrity do you think you could be best friends with?
5. What fictional place do you wish really existed?
6. What food have you never tried, and most likely never will?
7. Do you have baby names picked out for your future children/Why did you choose your children's names?
8. What would be your Twilight if Twilight didn't exist (but thank goodness it does)?
**My cards were awesome, especially if you love fall and Stefan. If anyone wants, I'll totally email you one too!

I like to think I'm a level-headed, 20-something that happens to like this vampire love story. This blog is dedicated to certain delusions caused by Twilight--the books, the movies, the cast, and whatever else strikes my fancy. Occasionally these ramblings might reveal my other loves: donuts, bedazzling things to sparkle, hair & makeup, and Taylor Swift.

It's still plenty hot here in California, and I don't like it! My allergies are killing me, and I never even thought I had allergy problems in the past! It finally rained yesterday and felt a tiny bit Autumn-y.
I'm going to have to think long and hard about your questions! They are pretty difficult ones, but I'll try to think of some good answers.
P.S. I don't understand how Frankenstein and vampires can be combined lol but it's still cute!
I am SO out of the loop of blogging, so don't feel bad. A big thank you to Amy for giving me a heads up that you posted and tagged me.
It never, ever fails to bring me to tears when I come to your blog, SFT, and I don't mean that in a bad way. It reminds me of how this journey all began, but it's the beautiful template, beautiful music playing, and beautiful romanticism...so you...that gets to me.
I do miss your presence in the bloggy universe, but I know that RL is your priority. I hope you are still loving your job and that it's everything you hoped it would be.
I loved Musing Bella's questions and your answers, but this one really tugged at my heartstrings:
"I'd buy a little seaside cottage somewhere by Monterey with a lemon tree in the backyard, and I'd treat myself to fresh flowers every week. Dream big!"
I hope your dream comes true :)
Of course, for those of us who are reading fanfic (good for you for not falling into that rabbit hole!), a lemon tree in our backyard would be very nice for different reasons ;)
Thanks for the tag. I am actually going to follow through and answer the questions on my blog. LOL!!
Take care!
Lisa
Amy, I forget it's warm in CA. My friend in Bakersfield is still sweltering lol. Luckily for me, I don't get allergies ever. We have Vampire Diaries chatting to do (I JUST saw the last episode)......
Lisa! First of all, so glad to see that you had an amazing time in Forks with the other girls, I'm very envious of that trip! How quickly September rolled around from the time it was announced!
Can I just reiterate how much I love your presence in my life? We don't get to talk as much as I'd like, but when we do it's such a reminder of just what a kind and warm person you are. And because you said it, it somehow makes me believe it's going to happen, I'm pretty much going to treasure the fact you wished me a happily ever after. I'm going to invite you to that wedding when it happens, believe me!
Aww I love your autumn post. It is magical. I love how nature decorates the Earth in the Fall.
Your answer to #5. *taps foot and glares down her glasses* Did I not provide you with a perfect short one to read?
Enjoy your trip to Nashville.
Just answering this:
When I was growing up of course I wanted to live the life of Sam Minelli (Alyssa Milano's character in Who's the Boss)
;) Nice to see you checking in!
Oh, SFT, thank you for the lovely words. You ARE going to have your happily ever after, and I WILL come to your wedding.
XXXOOO
Lisa
